Discovering our communities: Working as a counselor in the Mat-Su Valley, Alaska

Are you thinking about finding a job and living as a professional counselor in Wasilla or Soldotna, Alaska? We are going to be highlighting some of the most fun community events, activities, and adventures that we are fortunate to be able to do here in our beautiful state.

The 2022 holiday season kicks off with Bright Up the Night, Alaska’s largest drive-through holiday light display, at the Alaska State Fair starting on Thanksgiving and running through New Year’s Eve.

The holiday attraction, presented by ConocoPhillips, features more than 70 different light displays, more than half of which are brand new for 2022. From the warmth and comfort of their vehicles, guests drive through almost a mile of festive light displays spanning the entire length of the fairgrounds while enjoying the holiday music broadcast synced directly to their radio.

This is another great example of fun family friendly events that are showcased in the Mat-Su Valley throughout the year. Winter can feel long at times, but get out and enjoy it. Find out more info about the light show here.
